Introduction

Travis Rudisill (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Discretion Underground mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the App.

Information We Collect

Device Token (Push Notifications)

If you opt in to push notifications, Apple provides a unique device token that we store on our server to deliver notifications to your device. This token:

  • Is generated by Apple and is specific to this App on your device
  • Does not contain personal information such as your name, email, or location
  • Is stored in a SQLite database on our server alongside a device identifier to prevent duplicate registrations
  • Is used solely to send push notifications about events, specials, and venue updates

You may revoke push notification permission at any time through your device’s Settings app. If you disable notifications, we will no longer send pushes to your device, and stale tokens are periodically cleaned from our server.

Locally Stored Data

The App stores the following data locally on your device using UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server:

  • Notification inbox: A local copy of received push notifications for in-app viewing
  • Cocktail favorites: Your favorited cocktails for quick access
  • Cached content: Menu, events, hours, and other venue content cached for offline viewing

Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect personal information (name, email, phone number, address)
  • We do not collect location data
  • We do not collect usage analytics or behavioral data
  • We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs
  • We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies
  • We do not collect payment or financial information

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share any data with third parties. The only external service involved is Apple Push Notification service (APNs), which is operated by Apple Inc. and governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.

Data Retention

  • Device tokens are retained on our server as long as they remain valid. Tokens that Apple reports as invalid are automatically removed.
  • Local data (notification inbox, favorites, cached content) persists on your device until you delete the App or clear its data.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the data we store:

  • All communication between the App and our server uses HTTPS (TLS encryption)
  • Server access is protected by authentication and rate limiting
  • The server is hosted on infrastructure with standard security practices

Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Discretion Underground is a speakeasy venue that serves alcoholic beverages, and the App is intended for adults of legal drinking age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
